WHO WE ARE

Rotary District 9213, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Wilmette, USA,is implementing a $551,623 Global Grant to improve maternal and newborn health across 14 districts and 31 high-volume health facilities.
MISSION

VISION

A world where no mother dies while giving life, and every child has the opportunity to thrive through access to quality healthcare.

Our Objectives

Reduce Mortality

Improve maternal and newborn survival through quality healthcare and skilled support.

Increase Outreach

Expand access to essential maternal and newborn services in underserved communities.

Sustainability

Build lasting impact through partnerships, community ownership, and stronger health systems.

The Pain

In Uganda, approximately 50-60 newborns and 16 mothers die each day, translating to about 20,000 newborn deaths and over 5,000 maternal deaths annually. The leading causes include postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal asphyxia, sepsis, and obstructed labor – many of which are preventable with timely and appropriate care.

Despite widespread awareness of these challenges, frontline facilities remain under-equipped, health workers are often undertrained or unsupported, and community-level barriers delay or prevent care-seeking.
