Empowering Families, Growing Futures” is a Rotary Foundation Global Grant Project led by Rotary International (RI) District 9213 – Uganda in Partnership with RI District 6440 – USA.
It is funded by the Rotary Foundation and Rotary Districts in Uganda (9213 & 9214), USA (6440, 6450 & 7980) and Taiwan (3521).
The project will be implemented by Rotary and Rotaract clubs in Uganda organized in cohorts and Rotary Community Corps, both coordinated by Mama Toto Care Uganda.
The project will also be implemented in partnership with Ministry of Health, BULAMU, UNICEF, NICOSAM, Imaging The World Africa, Makerere University School of Public Health, Reach A Hand Uganda and Marie Stopes Uganda coordinated by the Ministry of Health and Mama Toto Care Uganda.
The Empowering Families, Growing Futures project is a two-year maternal and newborn health initiative focused on improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services across Uganda through strengthened facilities, trained health workers, and community impact.
Improving the quality and accessibility of maternal and newborn healthcare across 14 District Local Governments in Uganda.
Supporting 31 high-volume government health facilities identified by the Ministry of Health to strengthen maternal and newborn care services.
Training at least 170 midwives, nurses, and trainers to enhance healthcare delivery and improve outcomes for mothers and newborns.
Expected to reach approximately 92,000 mothers and newborns while working towards reducing maternal and newborn mortality rates by more than 20%.
Collaborating with healthcare institutions, community organizations, academic partners, and Rotary networks to strengthen maternal and newborn healthcare across Uganda.
Supporting planning, implementation, accountability, and community coordination.
Providing training, medical equipment, monitoring, and technical expertise.
Driving awareness, advocacy, family planning, and community engagement.
Collaborate with us to strengthen health systems, empower communities, and improve healthcare outcomes.
